Garaging space and maintenance-space were the same thing originally, as the early car-owner had either to be his own mechanic or, more likely, employ a chauffeur who could do repairs. Mews are fascinating places. But I guess they will all gradually go, like everything that has served its time. I've always been interested how when mews stopped being needed for horses and carriages, they started serving cars.
