I just missed the arrival of a train when I turned up at Northwood Halt at the weekend - but anyway the departing train was pulled by a diesel and wouldn't have looked as picturesque as the deserted halt.

I'm always on the lookout for corrugated iron houses. There's one at Amberley, but it has never looked very photogenic when I've been there - too many cars parked nearby, etc. (Not that I have any right to complain about this, turning up in a car as I do...).Philip Wilkinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04893714514416441572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4228081722487474323.post-83690068300465199332011-06-08T08:08:45.466+01:002011-06-08T08:08:45.466+01:00Corrugated tin and steam trains: a combination th...Corrugated tin and steam trains: a combination that makes me a very happy lady.

A couple of years ago, I saw a tin hut on the South Devon railway and thought that a replica would look lovely in my garden to store the gardening bits and bobs in. I'm still waiting for it though, but have settled in the meantime for having the shed roof made out of tin.

P.S. When I was in Lancashire last month, I saw a pristinely kept cottage with a black painted tin roof. Its a little gem. I must take a photo of it next time I'm up north. The Vintage Knitterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03479653990888198151noreply@blogger.com
