I haven't been there myself for decades, so can't offer any of my own photos, but there are some good ones at http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2285778David Gouldstonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01446150522362785974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4228081722487474323.post-15548729904454542492016-03-14T09:20:25.906+00:002016-03-14T09:20:25.906+00:00I expect by the late 18th century these gateposts ...I expect by the late 18th century these gateposts would have seemed terribly dowdy and old-fashioned - but perhaps the Earl liked them anyway, but cautiously put the plainer side outside?Joseph Biddulph (Publisher)https://www.blogger.com/profile/08655472675410890012noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4228081722487474323.post-84952711531721074962016-03-13T17:48:06.171+00:002016-03-13T17:48:06.171+00:00Peter: I keep passing a fine pair on the A40, but ...Peter: I keep passing a fine pair on the A40, but there's nowhere obvious to stop...Philip Wilkinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04893714514416441572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4228081722487474323.post-68355233636441494242016-03-13T14:26:53.639+00:002016-03-13T14:26:53.639+00:00Very interesting. Nightmarish and gargantuan, they never fail to impress.Peter Ashleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00027878122724846472noreply@blogger.com
